What in the hell happened on November 5? I'm still reeling - they pulled it off!

Almost immediately, I saw a rush to crucify Democrats Dick Gephardt and Tom Daschle, among others. I wish people would stop to think before they start stoning their own.

I don't blame Dick Gephardt and I don't blame Tom Daschle. I don't even blame the voters who gave the Republicans the Senate.

Imagine that you want to have a garage sale in your neighborhood. You call your paper and place an ad, and put up signs on all the telephone poles in your town. On the big day, you arrange your treasures on card tables in your driveway, pull up a chair and wait. And wait. And wait. Nobody comes! Nobody heard about your great stuff for sale! Why not? Well, for starters, the newspaper decided they wouldn't run your ad - the owner's pals are having garage sales too, and he knows that your stuff is FABULOUS and that everyone would want to buy it, once they heard about it. So he refuses to run the ad. And not only does he refuse to advertise your garage sale, he hires his friends' children to tear your signs down off the poles. As if that's not enough, he publishes articles about your stuff, telling people that it's shoddy junk and not worth the visit. Naturally, he doesn't print the opposing (true) view - that your stuff is of magnificent quality. You're sunk. Your garage sale is over before you even started. People went to the garage sales that were able to advertise in the paper, and bought a bunch of crap because they weren't aware of the difference between your stuff and their crap.

Who do you blame for your failure to sell your stuff? You can't blame the people who shopped at the other garage sales ; they didn't know any better and after all, they did end up with a bunch of crap. You certainly can't blame yourself - you did try, and you had some good stuff to sell.

Put the blame where the blame belongs - square on the shoulders of the guy who pulled your ad, who tore down your signs, and who heavily advertised the stinking pile of crap that his friends were selling as manna from heaven.

Get the picture? Don't blame the Democrats. Don't blame the voters. Blame the media. I certainly do.

Please stay tuned, more coming.....
